BCS Shropshire Branch Event Hot IT trends for 2017 and Christmas Social

Date: Wednesday 7th December - 6.15pm start

Venue: Wrekin Golf Club, Golf Links Lane, Wellington, Telford TF6 5BX

TITLE: BCS Shropshire - Branch Event and Christmas Social

Information Technology (IT) seems to be moving at such a pace. Even the IT professional finds it difficult to keep up. New technology more than ever is creating new opportunities, changing culture and exposing new threats. So much can be done on a smartphone now especially when linked to the internet. Not only smartphones but devices such as fridges interconnect via the “Internet Of Things”. However, this marvel brings threats such as the use of webcams to create massive Security (DDOS) attacks. With cloud computing we can now all benefit from massive scalability. Where will the opportunities be in all of this for us as professionals as well as consumers. How do we stay safe and reap the rewards?

About the speaker: Philip Oakley

Phil has been working in accounting and business software for over 15 years and has held positions in product management and business development. He specialises in helping professional organisations get the most from business software and web applications including integrating Digital Marketing. He is a very experienced speaker with great experience with Open Source and online systems. He is also an expert on Cloud CRM, Cloud Accounting, Google Apps and Social Media. He is certain to seed an active debate on this important subject.
