"Requirements By Collaboration"
Date: Wednesday 8th October 2008
Venue: International House, Telford 12.30 lunch for 1.00pm start
Event Synopsis: Requirements By Collaboration - A lunchtime talk by Dr. Ian Alexander
Where do requirements come from? Projects are of many types, and their requirements have different sources, but ultimately they are from people. Modern practices such as outsourcing are creating new obstacles to collaboration. This talk examines the range of requirement elements needed on projects, and considers how to discover them from people playing different roles. Collaborative techniques such as workshops and the use of group media are compared.
The talk will be delivered by Dr. Ian Alexander, chairman of the BCS Requirements Engineering Specialist Group, who is an independent consultant specialising in Requirements. His papers and books on requirements include “Writing Better Requirements” (Addison-Wesley, 2002) and soon to be published “Discovering Requirements” (Wiley, 2009).
This event has been jointly organised by the Requirements & Analysis Practise of Capgemini and the Telford branch of the British Computer Society.
